Amsterdam, June 27th, 2017 - On Friday June 30th the Paper Pilot store will open its doors in Amsterdam (Hazenstraat 18). This will be the first store in the world to exclusively sell paper airplanes. The store introduces the Smart Store concept and aims to show that even a simple sheet of paper can be sold in an innovative way.
Store visitors customize their paper planes to their own preferences, such as distance, aerobatics, and float time. Subsequently, they can participate in special flight competitions. The paper planes are sold for as little as 1 euro and all revenues will be donated to Amref Flying Doctors. Anybody desiring to acquire their very own paper airplane needs to be fast, the store will be closed after July 1st.
The Paper Pilot store is an initiative of Count3r. The young company made an app for sales staff to turn regular stores into a Smart Store. The sales associates and their tablets help customers with product information, decision support, and mobile payment. The promise is that a Smart Store sells more and results in more satisfied customers than regular stores. The Paper Pilot store demonstrates to all retailers and customers how the Smart Store works.
Count3r helps to digitalise physical stores and transform them to Smart Stores. Media Markt is the first large customer and the electronics chain is planning to use Count3r in all the Dutch stores. Earlier this year, Count3r won the jury prize for Best Retail Innovation 2017. The company was founded as a spin-off from Delft University of Technology and is located at Rockstart in Amsterdam.
